You see the bees, so busy by the flowers
To serve their queen and hive?
What force exhorts them through the summer hours
To search, to strive?
You see me here—yet like those bees, my powers
Will fade with autumn’s call:
To you I seem a citadel, yet towers
All fail, and fall.
