Everything’s changed and no one admits it,
Least of all Mum or Dad or you,
Brothers and sisters, aunties and uncles,
Everyone acts the way they do
When nobody wants to know what’s true,
Carrying on like they haven’t a clue.
Nothing can ever be like it used to,
Water and soap scrubbed out the stain,
God, what a mess you made in the bathroom,
Flushing the evidence down the drain.
Maybe it won’t ever happen again?
But it will, (and besides, you want it to).
