A comma here, a comma there,
Apostrophes inserted;
The stanza split to make a fit,
Indented lines inverted.
A semicolon gone astray,
And here, its tail deleted;
A second ‘n’ in Darien,
The error then repeated.
Ah, publishers are hasty men
Who like their bread with honey;
To proof a rhyme demands one’s time,
And time, dear sir, is money!
