Because we have less Time— far less
Than most of us could know—
To gaze at life’s pure wonderment—
So Time itself must slow.

Or rather— we must slow ourselves—
The hours will not relent,
To put aside— with sterner hands—
Each seed of discontent.

To learn to shun those thieves of Time
Piled up upon our shelves,
To seize each moment at its core—
And hoard it for ourselves.

The long march of our lives may make
A journey— or a race,
Our wealth or health may mend— and yet
What Time can we replace?
